Figured it out, for some reason the Ubuntu do-relase-upgrade to LTS 20 pulled an kernel that appears to be speciic for ibm’s cloud. Amazed it even boot (this is not a vm) and it didn’t have the st driver/module.
I had to force install the linux-image-generic and force uninstall linux-image-ibm reboot and all is well. Very odd, update failure on the Ubuntu installer. *Shrug* Brock Palen [email protected] www.mlds-networks.com Websites, Linux, Hosting, Joomla, Consulting > On Dec 23, 2021, at 5:50 PM, Brock Palen <[email protected]> wrote: > > I upgraded to Ubuntu 20 and Bareos 21 today (thanks BTW) > > I couldn’t conenct to the SD, but when I run it with debug I find it can’t > open /dev/nst0 /dev/nst1 etc. > > lssci shows the drives and their sg device and /dev/tape/ is there, but > NST missing > > root@myth:/var/lib/bareos# lsscsi -g > [0:0:0:0] disk ATA SAMSUNG HE253GJ 0001 /dev/sda /dev/sg0 > [1:0:0:0] disk ATA SEAGATE ST4000NM NS00 /dev/sdb /dev/sg1 > [2:0:0:0] disk ATA WDC WD2002FAEX-0 1D05 /dev/sdc /dev/sg2 > [3:0:0:0] disk ATA CT500MX500SSD1 023 /dev/sdd /dev/sg3 > [4:0:0:0] cd/dvd PLDS DVD-ROM DH-16D5S VD15 /dev/sr0 /dev/sg4 > [6:0:0:0] tape TANDBERG LTO-4 HH U619 - /dev/sg5 > [6:0:1:0] tape HP Ultrium 5-SCSI Z21H - /dev/sg6 > [6:0:1:1] mediumx TANDBERG StorageLoader 0495 - /dev/sg7 > > > Any idea why that would be?
