Hi Bareos community,
I have a problem to understand how Bareos manages numbers sequence in
volume labels.
Example:
I have two clients: client_1 and client_2 with two different pools:
Client_1 pool config:
#####
Pool {
Name = client_1-full-pool
......
Label Format = "client_1-full-pool-"
}
######
Client_2 pool config:
#####
Pool {
Name = client_2-full-pool
......
Label Format = "client_2-full-pool-"
}
#####
The clients are connected via the same storage daemon BUT they use two
separate devices ( two separate S3 buckets ).
According to documentation every pool has number sequence for volume
between 0001-9999.
So If I understand correctly I should have two pools with 9999 volumes each:
- client_1-full-pool-0001 ... client_1-full-pool-9999
- client_2-full-pool-0001 ... client_2-full-pool-9999
Bareos makes something different. It spreads 0001-9999 between ALL pools
as follow:
1. client_1-full-pool-0001
2. client_2-full-pool-0002
3. client_1-full-pool-0003
4. client_2-full-pool-0004
.......
10. client_2-full-pool-0010
11. client_1-full-pool-0011
How it is possible ? Why there is only one range numbers for ALL pools
even the pools belongs to different jobs and different storages ?
Thank you
