No, you can do virutal fulls whenever, it’s basically a full but on the server 
only and not fed from the client. 

It will then replace all your incrementals etc.  So what I do which I think you 
are trying to do is when they run you update them to be an archive job, sot hey 
are not part of the consolidation process for always incremental, or cause 
other issues.

It works just fine with any job type,  I have a monthly job that runs one of 
these for each high value client to a different tape pool and then I eject.
