Hello Barry! I'd just like to introduce myself and see if I can contribute to this project. I've been developing on the blackberry since 2001, including the old C++ and new Java APIs. I've also been a Linux user and developer since 1995. I happen to also have models current and past including 8800, 8100, 8700, 7100, 72xx, 67xx, and several 957s.
I'd love to get involved in this project. I just sat down and said to myself "Self, it's pretty dumb that I've been doing this blackberry thing for six years and still have to screw around with Windows all the time!" Then I googled around and found this project. So I'm quite excited. I'd probably be most useful doing any device-side programming that's needed, such a support deamon or client application. But my first priority would be to make a replacement for JavaLoader.exe in the RIM JDE. That's the only part of my development cycle that I haven't moved over to Linux yet. Can anyone tell me where the project is in regards to the roadmap at http://www.netdirect.ca/software/packages/barry/roadmap.php ?
