Does the device appear when you run lsusb?

If so, what product ID is shown when you run lsusb -v ?

If the usb_storage kernel module is loaded, then btool won't be able
to use the device.

Which version of OpenSync are you installing? And how are you installing
it? Binary packages, or via source?

If you are planning to test the developmental version of the Barry
opensync plugin, I'd recommend you use the latest CVS. The latest Barry CVS
version of the plugin requires Opensync libraries version 0.22.

You will also need autoconf and automake installed on your system to
build the CVS sources.
