Unfortunately not. I can reproduce the icon problem here on a Fedora 7 system, 2.6.21-1.3194.fc7 kernel, udev 106. Then I take the same device over to my debian 4.0 system, with custom built 2.6.21.1 kernel, udev 105, and it works fine. Perhaps the kernel really is doing something with the power, but I haven't figured out what yet.
