Not to my knowledge. The kernel is responsible for controlling the suspend mode, and if the latest CVS version of bcharge doesn't work for you, then you'll need to make sure the kernel doesn't interfere. The only way I know of doing that is recompiling the kernel without CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND.
