I realize it has been two months since you sent me this email. I had gotten
busy
and forgot about this. I will work on getting the gui tools into portage as
well.
There is a test ebuild in bugzilla, here it is if you wish to test:

We need to get libtar keyworded for amd64 before we can get this into the
portage tree. Either that or I will drop amd64 and get it in x86 only at
first.
