You didn't mention which version of Barry you're using.
Ok... here's a blast of questions you can look into to find out what
the problem is. :-)
Do you have a storage card in your device that might possibly be mounted
as a USB Mass Storage device? Is the usb_storage module loaded?
lsmod | grep storage
Does your device reboot itself when you get the timeout error? Or does
it still operate normally?
When you get the timeout error, try running the following command
immediately after, and looking for your Blackberry in the list:
lsusb -v | less
Is it there? What is the MaxPower setting?
Also, try doing "btool -vt" and post the output.
I also see that you're using an 8100. Before running the sync, make sure
that you can successfully backup and restore your contacts and calendar
items using the barrybackup GUI. Do a backup in Windows first. Some of
the newer devices give trouble restoring certain databases.
