I've attached a patch for my documentation of the Vendor Splash Media file format. There is an analysis of the format, a sample VSM branding file that I created from scratch and successfully loaded to a BlackBerry, and a text version of the sample file with annotations.
I'll put together some sniff files of the process of loading it to the device. Creating and editing VSM files with just a hex editor is tedious and error prone so if anyone cares to whip together a VSM file editor/creator that would be much appreciated.
