your blackberry may be getting those things, but you should check
whether (1) your system adds a default route properly (2) your system
actually populates /etc/resolv.conf with the DNS data. Fedora pretty
much requires you to use their network scripts to start pppd, if you
dont the link may be live but Fedora wont use it. I'll search out the
post I made to this list on getting it to work in Fedora a while ago
and forward it to you off-list.
