I thought of the mechanics of reloading the list, and I think it should be possible to optionally listen to the dbus for messages when a new device is plugged in, or even unplugged, and update the list automatically. Even with this feature, though, we'd still need the reload button, for platforms that don't use HAL/dbus, and just in case the user wants to force a reload.
