Sounds good to me.  I like option #3 as well.

The only thing I can add, is to optimize for the case where there is only
one device.  If there is only one device on the bus, it should be selected
automatically.  I highly suspect that the majority of users will only have
one device, and making the interface too complicated to support more
is bad.
