Chris,

I always reconfigure to avoid the slow sync, per below, also now using
your addressbook db purge hint.

If there is an easy way to script in the PIN/password config changes,
that would speed up the manual entry on the configure steps :)

#!/bin/sh
btool -s "Address Book" -P password -f /tmp/doesnotexist
msynctool --delgroup EvoBarry
msynctool --addgroup EvoBarry
msynctool --addmember EvoBarry evo2-sync
msynctool --addmember EvoBarry barry-sync
msynctool --configure EvoBarry 1
msynctool --configure EvoBarry 2
msynctool --showgroup EvoBarry

On sync, running without --conflict has no impact syncing only contacts
one way to the empty Berry address book; I double checked by
re-executing just now. Same loop issue.

cheers,
Ian

Do you still need the conflict option, now that the BlackBerry is empty?

Just double checking: do you recreate the msynctool group configuration
each time, before running your sync?
