I run ./configure as instructed (also tried without "--disable-shared") but compile fails with error below
the CVS libusb fails to compile also, so I downloaded latest stable tarball from sourceforge, and compiled /that/ (without error) and installed it (/usr/local) XmBlackBerry make still gives me the error. By the way, my apologies, but I don't know what the relationship between barry and XmBlackBerry is (one is a front-end for the other??). In addition to my XmBlackBerry efforts, I compiled barry on same system (without gui) without errors, but it get "undefined symbol: _ZN5Barry5ProbeC1EPKcS2_" when I run /usr/bin/barrybackup. (Compiled on Fedora 12, and that seems to run OK) ----------- XmBlackBerry make error: --------- make[2]: Entering directory `/data/installers/cvs/XmBlackBerry' rm -f libXmBlackBerry.a ar cru libXmBlackBerry.a ip_modem.o serial.o bb_usb.o util.o bb_proto.o buffer.o desktop.o database.o list.o timer.o bypass.o serdata.o serctrl.o verify.o -lusb ar: -lusb: No such file or directory make[2]: *** [libXmBlackBerry.a] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/data/installers/cvs/XmBlackBerry' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/data/installers/cvs/XmBlackBerry' make: *** [all] Error 2 ------ end quote ----------------------------- uname -a: Linux *** 2.6.31-19-generic #56-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 28 01:26:53 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux this is Ubuntu 9.04, apt-get-updated to date. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SOLARIS 10 is the OS for Data Centers - provides features such as DTrace, Predictive Self Healing and Award Winning ZFS.
