Well there are plenty of registry settings added but in the same wine prefix I have some JDE components installed so I don't know who put them there. I could run some tests to find out if really necessary. But to do a complete upgrade (firmware and OS .cod files) registry goo is of no interest.
Just for poops and giggles I installed the same device software package in a windows VM as I did in wine and the directory structure and file set (.cod/.alx/.sfi) are identical in both cases. So it seems using wine to extract the .exe gives you everything needed (assuming that is the goal).
