To make sure that the software is talking successfully with the device, you can use barrydesktop and browse the databases. You should see your calendar and address book entries that way, even edit them if you like. If that works, then it's just the opensync setup that's the problem. Make sure you're using the latest evolution plugin. There are evolution plugins for versions 2 and 3 available. Make sure you use 3. Try syncing just address book at first. Perhaps post some of the logs to see what it's doing.
