Those are pictures of mobile phone circuit boards[1].

What I am after are pictures that show the little silicon dies inside 
the IC packages that are soldered to those circuit boards.

To achieve that, you must
(1) Open the IC packages
(2) Use a (suitable) microscope to look at the exposed dies

See e.g. [2,3].

I myself do not have the required skills or equipment to do so, but 
thankfully people have spoken up who can help.

Thanks for the offer, but donor phone sourcing has already been taken 
care of.
One deal I got on kleinanzeigen.de was pretty convincing. The phone 
itself was free because the display damaged. Shipping to one of the 
decapping specialists was € 4.00. It's difficult to beat that.

That is all volunteer work, so it might take a bit of time before we can 
admire some nice pictures. I'll report back once there are news to 
share.
