Hello all, Are there any plans to allow filtering or transforming (e.g. averaging) over annotation values (e.g. brain, heart, liver) through the standard analysis tools in BASE2, or is this best done via plugins? I don't see any tickets about this. There are some old mailing list posts of mine about this wrt BASE1.
I personally can't think of a nice way it can go into the current "Filter bioassay set" interface, unless somehow the "Keep non-matching spots...", "Exclude matching spots..." part was expanded to allow percentages of bioassays grouped by a particular experimental factor: Keep non-matching spots from all bioassays if the filter matches that spot in at least [ ] percent of bioassays grouped by [ no grouping / OrganismPart ] Exclude matching spots from all bioassays if the filter doesn't match that spot in at least [ ] percent of bioassays grouped by [ no grouping / OrganismPart ] I'm sure it's not as simple as that though. One common application here is to filter out spots that don't have at least X good spots (out of Y replicates) for each experimental factor value. In BASE1 you could make lots of reporter lists and do this (although I never actually did). many thanks, Bob. -- Bob MacCallum | VectorBase Developer | Kafatos/Christophides Groups | Division of Cell and Molecular Biology | Imperial College London | Phone +442075941945 | Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
