The existing plug-ins expect data to come in one file. There is a ticket
about implementing a plug-in that can support Imagene files:

It is currently not on our agenda to do this but contributions are
welcome. We can provide space for source code and such on the plug-ins
site: http://baseplugins.thep.lu.se

I think this is a rather old document referring to BASE 1. But the same
approach would probably work in BASE 2 but I have no idea where you can
find the script that merges the files.
