Hello Folks:
We checked out a website that I found in the book:
TimeOut Edinburgh
Glasgow, Lothian & Fife
The website is:
http://www.glasgowhotelsandapartments.co.uk
for the West End Apartments, which have very good *weekly* rates
available. We just reserved a room with a two person studio apartment
with a double bed and kitchenette (self-catering) for the equivalent of
60 pounds per night. For the six nights that we're planning to stay
there, it comes to a total of 360 pounds. The towels and bedding won't
be changed every night, but then Bill and I don't need that.
If you want a room where they change the bedding everyday, then that is
known as a serviced studio, and you can get that for 64 pounds per
night, for a total of 488 pounds for a week.
The City Apartments are about a mile or so from the convention center
and next to tube lines.
This is the perfect solution for us, since we do not have to worry
about coming in at odd hours in a family's bed and breakfast. Some
places won't let you come in late, and this answers that problem.
So, if you haven't made any reservations yet, check this site out. Out
of the four places on this site, two still have rooms/apartments
available. The other two are already booked up.
A note of caution:
Be sure to read their Booking Terms & Conditions. This is not the place
to try and throw a large party.
Until later--
Carole
