Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 796 were accepted as ‘mysteeeeerious’

No Treasurer [week 3][ but the proxy report was that last week we took in $5.50 in the regular jar & $17.26 in the FC party jar

VP reports = pre-eminent VP Chris reported there will be NO ‘Drink Tank’ & he is participating in national novel writing month; [no Nathan, wk 1]

We said ‘hi’ to Ben Seeberger, visiting us, having found us via the website

We established a party fund jar

Announcements:
Cheryl announced that she brought a Glasgow worldcon report in Finnish to pass around & Saturday night is National Drunk Writing night

Dave C announced there is a BASCon this weekend [for slash fiction] at the Embassy Suites in South SF - go there and buy books

Kevin S announced that he’ll be in Portland for Orykon this weekend at the Marriott, downtown & there are Emerald Cities in the room [and that any money goes in the kitty]

Chris announced that he is a proud Emerald City subscriber & that a number of BASFAns are mentioned in this months File 770

Mike announced a Serenity meeting at the Tidehouse at Saturday, noon

Kevin R suggested that folks might want to go to the SC Leather Assoc Community weekend - check sccleather.org for more details & he announced that he & Andy may be running the cosplay masquerade in Anime LA

Jony reviewed ‘Thus’ by Pratchett as grim but whimsical

Cheryl reviewed the UK as cold & wet - that there was a Worldcon and nobody died & that England beat Australia in cricket and the world hasn’t ended yet

Dave C reviewed the Tiger Lilies as ‘the usual’

Kevin R reviewed Yaoi-con as it had a high ‘squeeeeee!’ factor, that he felt old & out of place & it was full of squealy fan-girls & worth pre-reg - with more details in SFSF

Chris admitted being a great big geek & reviewed ‘Most Haunted Live’ as a TV series made just for him; brilliantly wonderful & reviewed the DVD collection of ‘Arrested Development’ as worth full price & even more wonderful

Doug reviewed the Ardenwood corn maze as it contained trivia, was made for gamers * he insulted a chicken & it was utterly amazing; Kevin S follow-on’d that it was definitely worth full price

We auctioned off stuff for = t-shirt $1.00; DVD & magazine for $4.00, figures for $5.00; books for $2.00 & $2.00 & birthday auctioned off me for $14.00 to Trey

We adjourned at = 9:12 pm

And the rumor of the week was ‘shiver me timbers!’
