Reviews:
Kevin S reviewed Orycon as the result of a traumatic relocation & the
new hotel is more vertical than horizontal. There was a lot of gaming
programming now, the publications were quite nice and he was on 4 panels
& participated in gaming: Texas Holdum - and won the Friday night
tournament & came in 2nd on the Saturday night tournament. He had a good
time & it was worth what he paid for it. Kevin also reviewed a NESFA
Instant Messanger CCCP proposition as amusing
Cheryl reviewed World Fantasy Con as there were more authors present
than fans - she found a few panels that she liked & she accumulated
piles of books. She commented they were rained on but she had brought
her brelly, the art show was pretty good & 819 people attended. Chris
follow-on’d that a pro-wrestler friend of his was at the same hotel and
had a great time chatting with authors there. Dave G follow-on’d that he
approved of the book ratio in the Dealer’s room & he liked the hotel
Chris reviewed the single greatest thing that happened on the internet
[check out the Colbert report] as hilarious & also reviewed an El Sato
movie, ‘Wrestling Women vs the Aztec Mummy’, as the best thing ever put
on tape and sold at a flea market for $1.75
Kevin R reviewed a load of utter rubbish on the SciFi channel,
especially ‘Path of Destruction’ as so incredibly awful that it was
barely worth the price of not being able to move off the sofa
Dave C reviewed ‘robot cock-fighting time’ = ComBots as it’s back to
basics robot fighting & Sewer Snake won in the heavyweight division. He
thought it was fun and worth full price, even though he managed to get
in free
Ed reviewed ‘Jarhead’ as he enjoyed it. It was well-worth matinee and
reviewed ‘There Won’t be War’ by Harrison as highly readable
Dave G reviewed seeing a Santa at Stoneridge as terrible & insidious
Then we auctioned off a lot of books for = $5.00; $0.25, $0.25; $1.25;
$3.37 & $1.25
We adjourned at = 9:26 pm
And the rumor of the week was ‘that next week’s meeting will be
conducted completely in mime’
