For immediate release: July 23, 2004 SFSFC Issues Grants At their July 17, 2004 Board of Directors Meeting, San Francisco Science Fiction Conventions, Inc., issued several grants to various groups and individuals for development and furtherance of activities related to science fiction and fantasy literature. SFSFC issued the following grants: Clarion West Writers' Workshop: $1000 matching grant to help fund future workshops. For more information about Clarion West, including an appeal for donations to apply toward this matching grant, see <http://clarionwest.org/>. MCFI/Noreascon 4 <http://www.noreascon.org/>: $3000 to purchase high quality exhibit shipping cases for storage, protection, and transportation of Worldcon history exhibits. Noreascon 4 will purchase the cases for use by all future Worldcons. Strange Horizons <http://www.strangehorizons.org/>, a weekly web-based magazine of and about speculative fiction: $600 to pay web hosting and general operating expenses. SFSFC Inc. was the parent non-profit corporation of ConJose, the 2002 Worldcon, and of ConFrancisco, the 1993 Worldcon. These grants were funded from ConJose surplus funds.
