passed without objection
Ed reminded us that there seems to be a state program allowing clubs to
use historic houses as club-houses and that we should investigate this
Announcements:
Dave G announced ‘be at Worldcon or be square’ and Mike requested
Worldcon swag
Dave C asked when did the women’s uniforms all become line the beach
volleyball outfits
Reviews:
Julie reviewed Todd Browning’s ‘Freaks’ as worth the wait to get it and
worth buying from Dave at full price
Mike reviewed the Bay Area Anime BBQ as a nice get-together of a lot of
fans. The BBQ was abundant and there was lots of anime shown – worth
more than full price
Ed reviewed Connie Willis’s book of short stories ‘Impossible Things’ as
highly recommended at full price
Eric reviewed Disney’s ‘3 Musketeers’ [Donald, Mickey, Goofy] as there
were lots of in-jokes & it’s a romp, worth $14.95. Julie follow-on’d
that the packaging sometimes includes action-figures
Dave G reviewed going out on Sunday and seeing Heinlien’s house (where
he wrote ‘Friday’) as worth the drive to see it & reviewed the ‘Bonnie
Dunes Tasting Room’ as $5 for good wine, choclate and well worth full price
Trey reviewed John Ringo’s ‘Emerald Sea’ as a page turner, worth seeking
out and worth paperback. He also reviewed ‘Yu-Gi-Oh’ [insert loud outcry
of horror from Spring] as worth avoiding at any cost & that it lacked
the character development of many of the shirt worn at the meeting that
night
Dave C reviewed ‘Touch of Pink’ as Kyle McLaughlin does a great Cary
Grant imitation & rated the film as worth full price
We auctioned off = yet ANOTHER audio book bomb of ‘Agent Orange’ [read
by William Shatner] for $1.00 & a poster for .25
We adjourned at = 9:04 pm
And the rumor of the week was that ‘it should be ‘Yu-Gi-NOOOOO!!!’
