Secretary’s report: the minutes for meeting 743 were accepted as ‘they
just don't make curses like they used to'
Treasurer’s report: last week we took in $2.50
We also immediately birthday auctioned off Garth for $6.00 to Joanie &
birthday auctioned off Kelly for $10.00 to Kelly; then a lunchbox for $0.75
no VP [week 2], but a remote report that Frank's hair is back to normal
The President reported that he had nothing to report
Announcements:
Dave C announced that Spookicon will be held this weekend
Cheryl announced there are copies of 'Emerald City' on the back table &
that she had embarrassing blackmail photos from the party on her laptop
Mike announced he has a loaner set of 'Firefly' DVDs to lend out
Reviews:
Dave C reviewed resisting temptation and reviewed Horror Host Palooza -
as just a lot of fun, including 'Godzilla vs the Sea Monster' (the sub'd
version) and 'The Lost Skeleton of Cadavera' - and he announced there
will be a Godzilla-thon in the Castro - soon
Kevin reviewed Frank & Alison's Hallowe'en/birthday party as the
decorations were incredibly impressive - a huge success as a party &
worth full price and quite an event; there were follow-on's: Cheryl
reviewed the party as over the top, across the ceiling and down the
other side; Dave G passed on the comment that Alison has given up
hosting parties & Dave C was shocked beyond belief
Cheryl reviewed the 49ers bye week as 'they lost'
Dave G reviewed 'Farscape the Peacekeeper Wars' as a very nice story but
an obvious attempt to wrap up the series in 4 hours. He enjoyed it, with
the drawback of being the end. Trey follow-on'd that he enjoyed it and
thought they did a pretty good job of ending it
<<there was a matter discussed that I'm not recording cuz it's a
seeeeecret!>>
Trey reviewed 'Low Port' (an anthology) as a tired premise & reviewed
Pratchett's 'Going Postal' as somewhat gloomy but worth reading, worth
paperback
Art reviewed 'Read or Die' (an anime) as very entertaining
We auctioned off more stuff [books] for $2.00 & $2.00
We adjourned at = 9:06 pm
And the rumor of the week was ‘never wear earrings during a sword fight'
