Hello All:
I have confirmation that I will be the website manager for SiliCon
2005. Since I was so unhappy with last year's website and the problems
revolving around it, I figured that I should put my words into action.
However, I will not pretend that I know everything about a website, and
I could use the help of a team of people. If you agree with me and are
willing to help put in the effort to create an outstanding website for
SiliCon 2005, please come to a meeting at my home on Saturday, November
13th starting at 1:00 p.m.:
Carole Parker
630 Barnsley Way
Sunnyvale, CA
Nearest major cross streets: Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road at Fremont Blvd.
Allergy Alert: Two cats in residence. An effort will be made to reduce
cat exposure.
Areas that I am admittedly weak in include creating simple graphics and
CGI/PHP scripting.
The rules that I will be operating under for the SiliCon 2005 website:
1. Accessibility and usability are the watchwords for the website. If
people cannot access it or use it easily, it's not going onto the
website.
2. Any tools used must produce code that is viewable by all known
current browsers. If a browser can't read it or read it properly, we're
not going to use it.
I hope that several of you will be willing to join this website team.
Until later--
Carole Parker
