Treasurer’s report: last week we took in $3.00 & there was a pun fine
assessed Saturday
The VP reported she gave pictures from the Hallowe'en party to Art
The President reported that there are way too many new sf books coming
out this Xmas but he will endure - and bade folks come to Further

Kevin announced SFSFC is going to start a small convention about con
running [that sounds nifty] July 16-17, 2005 at the SJ Hilton
Cheryl announced there is Orycon stuff to look at & a British Museum
Xmas catalog to drool over and she's headed back to England & points beyond
Amelia announced that today is her birthday
Dave G announced there's a Farscape con at the Burbank Hilton this
weekend [buy lots of jewelry from Spring there]
Mike announced 'Team America' is at the cheap theaters now [check it out
at Milpitas for $1.50 Tuesday]
Dave C announced Saturday, Dec 4 is a Psychotronic Film Festival at
Foothill [$5 & $2 for parking]
Art announced that Wednesday/Thursday is the Leonid meteor showers
Pam announced Silicon's dates are Fri, Oct 7 - Sun, Oct 9
Frank announced a CD anthology called 'Fundamentally Challenged' has
been released & he did the cover art & Alison has a story in it & you
can read it or listen to it & he has some with him for sale at $10

Pam reviewed Kurtz's 'Saint Patrick's Gargoyle' as a page turner and
rev'd 'Polar Express' as wonderful. Dave G was told that Spring plans to
drag him off to see it; Trey follow-on'd that its visually impressive
and worth the matinee he paid for it
Art reviewed anime on Adult Swim - 'Full Metal Alchemy' as kind of wacky
& way nice animation & rev'd 'Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex'
a very high quality animation with some interesting concepts
Mike reviewed 'Infernal Affairs' as not a holiday sort of film, visually
beautiful, really, really good and for us to check out the pizza by the
slice place inside the theater as both are worth full price
Cheryl reviewed the SFSFC meeting as impressive to watch and said
Eastercon merchandize is cool [buy it on their website]; Kevin
follow-on'd about the SFSFC meeting that he liked the venue in which it
was held
Dave C reviewed 'The Grudge' as it had a few spooky moments & was worth
matinee
Cheryl [our newest member] reviewed 'Accelerating Change 2004' as she
thought the best bit was the Segueway scooter running over the
vacuum-cleaner-bot
We auctioned off stuff = birthday auctioned off Amelia for $7.00 to Ed;
a kewl thing for $4.00; a bag for $5.00; books for $3.00; $1.75; $2.00;
$1.00; $0.50 & candles for $0.25 & $0.25
