We established a party jar
Frank Wu wants world peace. Our waitress offered to get him whirled peas
Announcements:
Mike announced that he has an extra ticket for ‘that movie’ and is
looking for a laptop
Pam announced she has Silicon flyers [Silicon is Oct 7-9]
Dave C announced that the Supreme Court has struck down interstate wine
restrictions & that Baycon is in 2 weeks
Reviews:
Julie commented there are more than 500 time travel books - so she’d
need time travel to read them all & she just read a book about military
technology and recommends it - and there was some follow-up discussion
Nathan reviewed ‘Kung Fu Hustle’ as there were subtitles and fun fight
scenes and was worth matinee. He enjoyed it. He reviewed ‘October Sky’
as worth full price. Then he reviewed ‘Bay to Breakers’ as a running gag
Kevin reviewed taking the Amtrak Capital last weekend, round trip, as
$36 well spent. He also got one of the [few] cars with free wireless on
the way back and thought it worth what he paid for it
Dave C reviewed the Friends of the Sacramento Library book sale as it
was disappointing and not well run - but it did provide snacks
Trey reviewed Miller & Lee’s ‘Crystal Soldier’ as not as good as others
in the Liad series but still worth reading & reviewed Hamilton’s ‘Stroke
of Midnight’ as 3rd in her elf porn series - worth paperback - and that
it kept his interest
We auctioned off = a magazine with a Frank Wu cover for $3.50
We adjourned at = 9:23 pm
And the rumor of the week was ‘there aren’t the rumors you’re looking
for, move along’
