Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 775 were accepted as
'severely abridged’
The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $14.50 - & the week
before we took in $24.49 in the standard jar & $19.25 in the party jar
We voted for a new VP - candidates were: Sue Stokke; Dave Clark; Kevin
Standlee; Kelly Bueller; Nathan Slerm-r; Frank Wu; Chris Garcia & Cheryl
Morgan. After votes were counted [by Dave G, Eric & Daniel] there was a
tie between Nathan & Chris. [Nathan requested that he be known as
‘Nathan Slerm-r’ henceforth.]
The President’s report was a matter of personal presidential pride
The Party Committee reported that the Baycon party was a resounding
success both nights it was held & that Fred & Ed helped out. Friday
night was mellow & Saturday was standing-room only until the Mara’s Bar
slave auction. Everyone enjoyed the sandwiches & layered bean dip. There
was 2 types of slerm - green & red. And the party jat at-con took in
$302.00 [$30 in new-member dues]! Yay Nathan!
We established a party jar
Art reported that a librarian contacted him, seeking to find the name of
a story - possibly from the ‘50’s - that Trey thought sounded like a
Simak story
Kelly brought auction items
A motion was made to have Chris & Nathan hold hands [with each other] &
it was moved to table the motion indefinitely
Announcements:
Dave G announced that he & Spring have 2 tickets for sale to the Bonny
Dunes ‘Day of the Dunes’ [$35/each] - see him or Spring
Mike announced that Bruce Campbell will be at the Camera 7 next Monday
night from 6-9pm
Reviews:
Dave G reviewed Baycon as it felt like old times - from the 80’s - very
refreshing & Frank follow-on’d that he & Chris looked at a lot of blogs
& folks seemed to have fun; & Ed follow-on’d that Spencers has changed
its menu
Dave G reviewed an Ebay ad for a devil squash as humorous
Frank paid for Daniel’s BASFA membership.
We auctioned off stuff = posters for $1.00 & $0.50; a box o’ T-shirts &
2 books for $0.50; & a Bullwinkle tie for $3.75
We adjourned at = 9:29 pm
And the rumor of the week was ‘slerm!’
