Reviews:
Julie reviewed/commented that John Williams had a career before ‘Jaws’ &
‘Star Wars’ & reviewed the Ardenwood Celtic Festival as really nice
I reviewed ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ as gorgeous and possessed of an
intricate plot & Trey follow-on’d that the voice actors did a great job,
even with the convoluted plot it was well worth seeing
Then I reviewed ‘Batman Begins’ as almost as good as the first Burton
‘Batman’ movie, with a few clunky bits, overall good acting and worth
full price; Colby follow-on’d that he thought it was worth Metreon full
price and ‘as good as the Burton expose’ ’; Frank follow-on’d that it
was worth DVD rental because he wants subtitles, complaining that too
much dialogue was mumbled [several comments followed]; Dave & Spring
follow-on’d that they saw it on IMAX - Spring thought the character was
more fully fleshed-out & said she’d take this Batman over the other dark
knight any day
Chris reviewed ‘Ever After Happily’ as played by 7-year olds as
heartbreakingly cute & reviewed ‘The Incident at Loch Ness’ as the best
fake doco he’s seen in the last 10 years, well worth full price; Julie
then follow-on’d that it might be a remake of a Disney Sunday night
presentation; then Chris reviewed vol. 5 of a fanzine, ‘Peregrinations’
as his name is all over it, ‘so do read it’.
John reviewed the ‘Mountain Arts Guild’ 9th annual festival as he
recommends iy
Ed reviewed ‘Exceptions of gravity’, a magic/commedy show by Avner
Eisenberg was worth full price, very good [there were comments] &
reviewed ‘We Few’ as there’s going to be yet another volume in the
series after it
Cheryl reviewed Australian cricket as ‘go Bangladesh!’ - as very
entertaining & reviewed a meeting offered by the Cato Institute as
illuminating & reviewed her trip to India as she brought back cool
‘tourist tat’ and also bought lovely clothes [comments about foreign
customs & habits were then discussed]
Dave C brought more tales from NYC & reviewed a Broadway show, “Dirty
Rotten Scoundrels’as fun & recommends it as worth full price & reviewed
a restraunt, ‘Mars 2112’ as he now knows the future of food, said the
place had effective décor, despite the disco ball - but that the food
was lackluster - so stay away from it [‘Mars needs food!’ & other
comments were made]
‘Bob’ reviewed ‘Lost Island of Cadabra’ as best senn drunk, then
