Trey Haddad, President Chris Garcia, Vice-President Dave Gallaher, Treasurer Galen Tripp, Sargent at Arms Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary Began 8:035 25 people attended Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 819 were accepted as ‘a room with a floor’ A Treasurer’s report was not available due to a lack of vital Treasurer goodness The VP reported there’s a new ‘Pacheco Progress Report’, the ‘unproofed edition’ and he will visit Vegas fandom this weekend & then he teased us The President stated he had nothing to report The Party Committee reported that we may combine with FurNation to form a joint party for FC 2007 We established a party jar The Hollister in ’08 bid committee reported there are 20 members & that Cheryl will be Andy’s Wiscon agent The Sports Committee practiced his ninja skills and avoided reporting Announcements Cheryl announced that ‘Emerald City’ is looking for a roving reporter for NorWesCon [and looked significantly at Dave C - who did volunteer for the duty] Dave C announced that NorWesCon is this weekend - only 850 miles away - & urged us all to attend [evil] Kevin announced another ‘best thing ever’ - in that the ‘Thumb Wrestling Federation’ will be on Nick Toons Kevin S announced he found a flyer for a manga/anime expo that will be held April 29 [in 2 parts] in Fremont at the teen center Dave C then theorized about how the space initiative came about Reviews: Andy reviewed the greatest achievement of frog-kind ever - possibly the ugliest case ever made for the ipod & reviewed ‘Mac Rescue’ - a service out of Kansas - as that they will also repair ipods in a rapid, reliable manner & as worth full price Chris reviewed a trip to Sonoma as he enjoyed viewing documentaries & had a great endorsement from Gavin Newsome, met fun folks, drank a lot of wine & it was worth the $385 spent on the room & all the walking he had to do there Kevin S reviewed the Golden Spike 3 in Niles as that you can now ride the train from Niles to Sunol - but that Kevin didn’t get a chance to ride on it; then Cheryl continued the review with some Niles trivia, plus she really enjoyed the 2 hour silent film, but even moreso the synthesizer player [evil] Kevin reviewed an interesting show = Kink Ink and his experience of being a canvas for Sharpie art & amusement at being immortalized as the ‘naked drunk guy’ by one blogger; he really enjoyed the night Mike then announced that he had an idea involving a way to top William Shatner We auctioned off stuff, books for = $0.75; $0.25; $0.75; $0.50; $0.25; $0.25; $0.25; $0.25; $2.25; $1.00; $4.00 & $12.50; videos for $2.50 & $2.50 & Wonder Woman notelets for $13.00 We adjourned at = 9:34 pm And the rumor of the week was = ‘Dream Haven features leather-bound authors’ _______________________________________________ basfa mailing list [email protected] http://vesta.wallis.com/mailman/listinfo/basfa
