Secretary’s report:  the minutes of meeting 842 were accepted as ’orthagonal’

We established a party jar

Treasurer’s report = we took in $27.00 last week in the regular jar & $18.25 in the party jar - & we’re moving right along

The VP reported that there are 4 new ‘Drink Tanks’ out and a new ‘SfinSF’ due out this week & Silicon is coming up and he’ll be working on the newsletter there

The President had nothing fannish to report

Announcements
I announced that there will be a Further Confusion party at Silicon, Saturday night in room 243 & that tomorrow is ‘talk like a pirate day’

[tall] Kevin announced that Google approved his video of LA Con’s closing ceremonies and it can be accessed through his LJ

Chris announced that in honor of Seymour Cray there will be talks and so forth Sept 21, Thursday at the Computer History Museum

Julie announced that anyone who would like to help with Gerald Nordley search for a new home for Contact [a small con of about 200] - to please see her after the meeting

Daniel announced that Campbell winner John Scalzi had the week’s 2nd most visited website this last week for taping bacon to his cat [and there were follow-on’s]

Dave G announced that actually paying for your Vinticon memberships now would be a good idea

Andy reviewed the Canon S3 IS Super Zoom Digital Camera - bought right before Worldcon - as really damned impressive, definitely very nice & not cheap but worth full price

Dave C reviewed ‘The Stupidest Angel’ by Christopher Moore as an all right book that has its moments - and worth paperback; and also reviewed ‘The Illusionist’ as interesting and worth matinee & reviewed ‘My Super Ex-Girlfriend’ as 2 hours of his life that he won’t get back

I reviewed ‘Kitchen Confidential’ by Anthony Bourdain as a wonderful book that I really recommend folks go out, find and read

[evil] Kevin reviewed showing pictures of the gay rodeo contestants to the contestants as ‘Andy ended up surrounded  by cowboys and cowgirls going ‘Ooo!’ and ‘Ahhh!’

Joanie reviewed the Art Car festival on Saturday as she liked the docorated SUV in the ‘no parking’ spot best

Chris reviewed the ‘single greatest thing ever’ [Chris for TAFF? Someone asked] was taking a nap in a Taco Bell parking lot and getting car-side service - and the tacos were the best ever & the greatest moment of all time on You Tube was the full George Takei segment from the Shatner roast & reviewed the ‘Greg the Bunny’ DVD boxed set as absolutely hilarious - worth full price

Julie reviewed a Giants game [vs the Rockies] as the pizza across the street was very good, they sat in the left field bleachers & the Giants won & was a great game to go to & she reviewed Burton’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ as wait for cable & reviewed a BASFA auction item as she has possibly fallen in love with it

Harold reviewed ‘Monet in Normandy’ as worth full price & the “Zombie Survival Guide’ was worth full price and it takes itself completely seriously & nominated Chris to be the head of the ‘BASFA Zombie Survival Committee’ & it passed; then he also reviewed the ‘Ultimate James Bond Fan Book’ as superb in every way

Trey reviewed Ringo’s ‘Princess of Wands’ as you’re better served to avoid this one & reviewed Weber’s ‘In the Shadow of Saganami’ as it’s sort of fun, worth library

We auctioned off stuff - birthday auctioned Kelly for $6.00 to Chris & birthday auctioned off Daniel for $6.00 to Chris; then books for $12.00, $8.00 & $30.00!, then videos for $1.50

We adjourned at = 9:35 pm

And the rumor of the week was = ‘Bacon will be taped to Adrienne’
