Trey Haddad, President Chris Garcia, Vice-President Dave Gallaher, Treasurer Galen Tripp, Sargent at Arms Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary Began 8-ish 18 people attended Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 852 were accepted as ’spellchecked by Chris’ We established a party jar There was no Treasurer or Treasurer’s report VP report = SFinSF is out & has a nice cover & he joined the Australian/New Zealand Amateur Press The President had nothing fannish to report The AhwaneeCon committee reported that they managed to annoy 2 people at Loscon Announcements Julie announced she started a new job last month - wiring pipe organs I announced that Further Confusion desperately needs someone to bid for FC 2008 [evil] Kevin announced that the secret coupon code for Costumecon actually works Reviews: Garth reviewed a bluegrass song, ‘Pray to the Lord when you see Them Flying Saucers’ as it really sticks in his mind Chris reviewed the perfect film, ‘Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny’ as a film that made him and his folks laugh SO much - absolutely perfect and worth full price, plus dealing with Riverside County & reviewed Loscon as it turned out to be a fun convention & helped raise $200 for the TAFF auction & he had a panel where the panelists outnumbered the audience 5 to 1 & the best party was Eric in the elevator - big thumbs up & the best beard in fandom is owned by Scratch Cheryl reviewed the fungi festival at the SF ferry building as the mushroom cheesecake was well worth the price & Kevin follow-on’s that it tasted like maple syrup; then Cheryl reviewed the best thing on TV ever as the Ashes series - the pinnacle of cricket - direct from Australia Andy reviewed last week’s Torchwood as ‘great mother of God!’ & they’ve definitely hit pace, as absolutely brilliant and this week’s episode was back to lesbian-alien science fiction & very good; then reviewed ‘Dr Who a Celebration’ was a nearly 2-hour concert of Dr Who music & absolutely brilliant Julie reviewed ‘Casino Royale’ as well worth matinee & reviewed the Titanic exhibit as worth the $17.50 for saying she rode BART & she enjoyed seeing the artifacts in person & reviewed ‘Ragtime West’ as pricey for a 1-day [$45] and the Red Lion it was held in was kind of seedy and small, but that the musical programming was well worth what she paid and ‘almost fannish’.
