were follow-ons]

Chris announced IFC will be showing ‘The Last Woman on Earth’ starting
Dec 20 and running through Jan 7

Reviews:
Harold reviewed ‘Stranger than Fiction’, as funny but with a few serious
flaws [like the main character is named ‘Harold’] - but quite good and
worth bargain matinee

[tall] Kevin reviewed travel to Yuba City as there are better hotels
there than the Best Western & reviewed the Kansas City SMOFcon as the
weather affected attendance, that the convention was badly organized,
that the city shuts down at night, a few good bits and that the
convention was still worth his time & that next year’s SMOFcon will be
in Boston

Cheryl reviewed Kansas City [‘misery’] and hence Kansas by proxy as she
had no idea why Dorothy would want to go home & reviewed the ‘Pacific
Buffet’ in Fremont as having a wide range of food and recommends it

Chris reviewed ‘possibly the greatest thing ever’ = the Psychotronic
Film festival as the shorts were absolutely brilliant & ‘the Green
Slime’ is one of the most terrible films ever made - but with the
audience it was brilliant & worth full price PLUS having to walk both
ways in the rain & he reviewed buying comic books as ‘comics are dead
and they ruined my Flash’ [there were follow-ons]

Adrienne reviewed ‘Casino Royale’ as the opening credits were wonderful,
they really updated Bond & the soundtrack irked her; plus she reviewed
‘Borat’ as having a few good laughs but was otherwise tedious

Dave C reviewed ‘Conservatize Me’ - as interesting and worth full price

Howeird reviewed ‘Déjà vu’ [then reviewed it again] - as well-acted,
with good writing and good editing - worth full price & he also was
wearing a GOOD T-shirt

[evil] Kevin reviewed ‘Vampirates’ as ‘simply mediocre’ & aimed at a
younger audience & that it may be the first of a new series

Andy reviewed last week’s Torchwood as ‘still fantastic and worth
stealing’ and reviewed ‘The Super Buffet’ at Stevens Creek & Saratoga as
‘not so bad that it gave me cancer, but it sure ain’t good’ - and not
worth going there for free [there were follow-ons]

We adjourned at = 9:30 pm

And the rumor of the week was = ‘the Masquerade halftime entertainment
at Baycon will be the Shrimpchip 5’
