The Hugo Awards nominating ballot is out. Those of you who are L.A.con IV members but not Nippon 2007 members may have already received a ballot mailing. Deadline is March 4 -- ballots must be received by this date, which is a little earlier than usual, to be counted.
As is traditional, BASFA usually spends several meetings in January-February discussing nominations for the Hugo Awards. At last night's meeting, I proposed (and there were no objections) that we set aside the first three Mondays of February for Hugo Night discussions. We've usually worked our way through the ballot from the bottom up, so the tentative schedule is: February 5: John W. Campbell Award, Best Fan Artist, Best Fan Writer, Fanzine, Best Semiprozine February 12: Best Professional Artist, Best Editor Long From, Best Editor Short Form, Best Dramatic Presentation Short Form, Best Dramatic Presentation Long Form February 19: Best Related Book, Best Short Story, Best Novelette, Best Novella, Best Novel -- Kevin _______________________________________________ basfa mailing list basfa@basfa.org http://vesta.wallis.com/mailman/listinfo/basfa
