I've corresponded and talked with James and Kathyrn Daugherty regarding
a BASFA meeting on Monday, July 2 of Westercon, and here's the scoop:

1. Westercon's programming grid consists of 90-minute slots. The
evening slots start at 5:30 PM, 7 PM, and 8:30 PM. Those are the
starting times available to us.

2. They'll reserve one of the small meeting rooms for 7 PM on Monday,
July 2, and mark it "BASFA Meeting." I suggested they make Chris the
official moderator, on account of Trey and Barbara not being there.

3. Official policy is that programming space and function rooms are for
members of the convention only; however, the small meeting rooms are not
"secured space" in the evening, so if some BASFA members who are not
otherwise attending Westercon want to drop in for the meeting, they do
not expect it to be a problem.

(Personally, I suggest that if anyone does that, they keep a low profile
and not attend any other events or functions. "Ghosting" is rude.
Westercon is extending BASFA a courtesy.)

So:

1. I intend to re-introduce the subject at the meeting next Monday (June
18) and propose that we change the meeting time of the July 2 meeting
(currently 7:30) to 7:00 PM, to conform with Westercon's programming
schedule and room availability.

2. If the club insists that the meeting is not to start until 7:30, I'll
have to be there myself at 7 PM anyway to greet anyone who relies on the
printed program schedule.

3. We'll have to be finished before 8:30, but I doubt that will be a
problem, as some of us have commitments that evening.
