of positive comments on the rumor posters.

Announcements:

Carole: Going to Albacon (who's your friend), send stuff to her by
Wednesday if you want it to go there.

Dave C: KFJC 89.7FM fundraiser week. He encouraged everyone to support fan
friendly radio and there were some follow-ons.

Adrienne: There will be a ghost walk @10 AM @ 10/1 @ Murphy's. She is now
the organizer for the Bay Area Ghosthunters. They will be having a meeting
on 10/17 @ The Old Spaghetti Factory @ 7PM.

Dan: Thanked everyone for coming to Silicon and had a good time. He noted
that three positions had quit, but the con went on. Most of the at-con
problems seemed to be with the hotel. Announced next year's guests. There
was a follow-on thank you from Radar to her staff and Mo noted that the
dealer size/fan body count ratio helped dealers.

Reviews:

Silicon
-------

Evil Kevin: Didn't have a party, drank other people's booze, got too little
sleep and had a great time. He said it was one of his better Spintronics
lectures.

Andy: Had a blast, hotel mixed stuff: sushi bar great, Sprigs closed too
early, though not too bad due to the low population. Parties were better
than last year. Fanzine lounge excellent. Best Match Game(tm) since LAcon,
though "Sarah Palin got a little tired." Worth full price.

Lisa: Enjoyed being there, liked having dinner with Larry. Did not like the
front desk's "dumb" attitude.

Bill: Coffee shop redux, filk room good, pleased to see younger fen
there. Worth
full price.

Carole: Had a good time, enjoyed the masquerade, applause for the fast
judging. Noted that people noted that the population was down. She's
already bought next year's membership and enjoyed talking to Peter S.
Beagle.

Radar: Great masquerade staff, had a lot of fun and ready to hit the ground
running for next year. Worth full price.

Glenn: Spent most of the con behind a table, initially getting leaked on
from the ceiling before we were moved. Threw a Westercon in 2011 party,
which was not only successful in terms of getting pre-supports, but people
also stayed around and chatted, rather than just stuffing their faces and
leaving. He found the hotel to be dysfunctional in many aspects,
particularly dining and maintenance. Wound up being drafted by Ed to be the
ice runner on Friday night, as the hotel would only allow one person to go
down to the ice machine in the kitchen. Enjoyed Match Game(tm), the only
program item he got to. Thought the con was worth full price, but not the
hotel.

Tall Kevin: "The singular of data is not anecdote." Spent most of his time
at the Westercon table as well. There were label problems as he had printed
them in a rush and put them wrong side up in the printer. He made a number
of attempts to use the color printer at the con, but it didn't like the
paper size of the label sheets. Ran Match Game(tm) using the long
microphone with a cable. Some issues with tripping and static. Thanked
Silicon for all the A/V resources and the four hour block.

Meta: Really liked the BASFA rumors at the party.

Mo: Also liked the rumors. Stated that Kevin and Andy have raised the bar
on parties and wants to see one with a Mexican wrestler theme.

Stellen: Did the IT tech support for the con and since it involved mornings,
it proved he could do it in his sleep.

Ed: Thanks for the rumors and art works. $398 for charity at the Klingon
Slave Auction. Upcoming, he will be doing the science track for Further
Confusion.

Mo: Thanked the folks who helped her with the Art Show.

Non-Silicon Reviews:
--------------------

Harold: "Sanctuary" not so good, reminiscent of "Torchwood". Evil Kevin
followed-on, saying it was "Yet another skinny boy on SCI-FI." He found
the wig and bad accent distracting.

Dave C: "Fringe" has this odd storyline problem where every time they find
some new weirdness, it is something one of their group dealt with 15 years
before.

Adrienne: Reviewed "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" as cute and silly. One of the
voices was Placido Domingo. Worth matinee, though there were no Taco Bell
jokes. She is still watching and enjoying "Primeval".

Dave C: On "Prime Time", Alec Baldwin does the best Sarah Palin amongst men.

Tall Kevin: The N. 1st Street restaurants are closer than you might think to
the hotel.

Lynn: Looking for a tech writer job. Will be performing the Kol Nidre
cantor duties this Wednesday/Thursday at a Masonic temple.

Auctions: Book for $8, print and books for $15, videos for $0.75, $3, $1
and a quarter.

Rumor: Kevin Standlee and Cheryl Morgan were recently aquired by a Japanese
bank.

We adjourned at 2128 hours.
