Lisa: Went to Further Confusion, had a
good time and lots of follow-ons:

I got close to and took photos of a juvenile red tailed hawk and a
great horned owl. I'll post photos after we get back from Conflikt.
Chris: had a blast, hotel had problems: bad bacon
and lousy in-house video feed
I'm soooo glad Further Confusion doesn't have to deal with the
DoubleTree non coffee shop anymore. Now, if SiliCon could move to a
better hotel, I'd be happy.
Lex:
Probably another 25% in non-fur costumes,
probably 1000 all told.
I'm told that Further Confusion topped 2,500 people this year.
Mentioned that they had a video introducing the
Fairmont for next year.
Essentially, Further Confusion has outgrown the DoubleTree. The
Fairmont has more convention space and guest rooms, and they have *18*
breakout rooms, so more programming can happen. Or things like program
green room and conops can have real rooms instead of being crammed into
hotel guest rooms.
I worked in the Further Confusion Masquerade (29 entries) Green Room as
a den mom, and it was well received. Not perfect as far as science
fiction costumers are concerned, but better than previous. This time,
it was actually organized, and we were able to provide some snacks for
the costumers. Maybe next year, they won't have to trip over all the
audio equipment.
