Hello All:
Call me paranoid. We're going to replace our deck, and I have the fear
that we'll discover an active termite infestation when we pull the deck
off.
Why? Because we essentially have wood to ground contact (definitely not
allowed anymore), and our deck goes into the house studs. Yep, it looks
like this deck was put in original with the house. The building codes
were different in 1967. Our current deck would not pass code if it was
done new.
The house was tented in 1999, but I don't know if that included the
deck or not. I'd rather have a recommendation of someone good on hand
than try and find someone at the last minute.
For them that don't know, we live in Sunnyvale.
