Trey Haddad, President Chris Garcia, Vice-President Dave Gallaher, Treasurer Galen Tripp, Sargeant at Arms Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary Began at 8pm - with a Joe sighting 23 people attended a party jar was established Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 972 were accepted as 'the 2010 Hugo nominee for best gramatic presentation' Treasurer report = last week we took in $11.50 in the regular jar and $ 7.00 in the party jar the Vice president said 'Hola' and reported that there is a new 'Drink Tank' out & it's all about Corflu ... with stuff and that explains a lot The President said 'hi' to Chris [a game programmer] & Amber [who works with Garth], visiting us for the very first time - and also said 'hi' to another Chris who is 'Joe's accessory' Announcements: Chris announced that he was nominated for a fanwriter and fanzine Hugo; that Cheryl was nominated for a fanwriter Hugo, that Frank Wu was nominated for a fan artist Hugo & that Alan Beckwas nominated for a fan artist Hugo [evil] Kevin announced from his brother, Swirly Rat Jr, that the Hydrogen Babies have a show, 9pm, April 2 at the Eagle Tavern in SF Ken announced that there's an Legion of Rasselon meeting at the Carl's Jr at 1st and Trimble, Friday night Glenn announced that San Lorenzo HS will be preforming 'Urine Town' some time in the future Dave C announced yesterday was 'talk like William Shatner' day and that tomorrow Turner classic movies will show a Chuck Jones marathon starting at 5pm for 5 hours [Pacific time] Lisa announced that the Sharks have won the Pacific division Reviews: I reviewed a radio commercial for Chase bank that used the phrase 'what's that smell? It's Chase' - as being unintentionally awful and hilarious Adrienne reviewed the Winchester flashlight tour as she's not sure it was worth it, even tho she got to keep the flashlight Lisa reviewed 'Race to Witch Mountain' as enjoyable and well done Joe announced that he'll do things with VHS for free if people ask and then he's getting rid of his VHS rig & reviewed 'Watchman' as very well done & true to the book <<as infuriating as that was>> Chris reviewed his weekend as 'spent with Linda' and he saw art exhibits that were worth more than full price - except for the Andy Warhol part - and the comic buying part was weird and his mind was blown by 'Gumby' Dave C reviewed Neil Gaiman on the 'Colbert Report' as awesome & worth full price Andy reviewed returning from the land of the Giant Drag Queens as not bad, but a bit under-attended; but there were lots of fun and absurd dresses & it was worth going to Howeird reviewed Consonance [again] as fun - and reviewed the train ride to Reno as very pretty, he saw lots of snow and highly recommends it - worth full price we did auctions: birthday auctioned off Joe for $7.00 to Chris; light bulbs for $0.10; cards and a puzzle for $0.50, books for $1.25, a box of books for $2.00; candy for $0.44, recipe cards and tapers for $0.25, a magazine & poster for $0.25, & a clock and beanbags for $0.70 We adjourned at = 9:43 And the rumor of the week was: 'Hugo nom ... nom nom nom' -- ******************* She/whispered/'Oh/my/goodness/what/are/all/these/squirrels/doing/here?'
