Minutes of BASFA Meeting 1000. 39 people in attendence in the quiet bar of
the DoubleTree hotel.

Meeting commenced at 2000 hours on 10/4/09.

VP Chris Garcia presiding. Glenn Glazer holographic secretary.

Party jar moved, amended to be a bar tip jar. Amendment passed, main motion
passed.

Dave G. gave a short history of BASFA starting from meeting 0 at Silicon 2.
Kevin Standlee was the only person present who was at meeting 0 and gave a
brief personal history with respect to BASFA.

Chris read a proclimation from the LASFS.

Treasurer reports that we have money.

Millenium Bug committee reported we were here. They were discharged with our
thanks.

Dave C. reported for the committee to overtake the Melbourne SF Society. All
goes according to plan.

Announcements

Radar: Running programming for Silicon next year, therefore certifiable.

Evil Kevin: There was a convention this weekend.

Lynn: Needs a job as a tech writer or news anchor.

Julie: Next week she will be taking her calliope to Sutter Creek for the
Sutter Creek Band Organ Rally.

Lisa Harrigan: Convention was here, kinda small, sold memberships for W64
and liked what prog she saw.

Lynn: What if someone threw a great con and nobody came? Karaoke party worth
price of admission.

Evil Kevin: Some guy as toastmaster, got people to cluck like chickens and
clop like horses

Tall Kevin: Grateful to Silicon to for letting him to do match game, has
been requested to do it next year. Thanked everyone for helping and
participated. Glenn enjoyed being a first time panelist. Dave C. mentioned
that Chris actually matched someone. Sara enjoyed being a panelist to.

Andy: Fanzine Ultralounge.

Lisa Hayes: The ultralounge was the ultra place to be at Silicon.

Julian: Match Game was blanking awesome.

Fred: Ars Electronica was great.

Adrienne: filmmetro.com: website for advance screening tickets. Went to see
"Paranormal Activity". Sort of like "Blair Witch Trial". Worth seeing if you
don't need lots of SFX.

Chris Taylor: "Flash Forward" - awesome, good characterization. Worth full
price.
