Began 8pm - with gossip!

We established a party jar

21 people attended

Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 1014 were accepted as 'pass the
wine and praise the carrot cake'

the Treasurer reported 'we have money'

the Vice President reported that there is a new 'Drink Tank' out - and
there's a thing with some stuff in it

The President had nothing fannish to report - except that there are
conventions coming up

Announcements:
Stellan announced that he was granted an extension on his visa until
mid-July

Howeird announced that Conflict will be at the end of this month - and that
people died last week

Glenn announced that it's an Amelia Earhart anniversary and that there are
conventions coming up

Chris announced "I am so awesome"

Reviews:
Howeird reviewed 'Up in the Air' as technically one of the best movies of
the year, the writing is superb and he recommends it to [tall] Kevin - worth
full price [and there were lots of follow-ons]

Adrienne reviewed 'Demons' on BBC America as okay special effects & not
worth going out of your way to see

Dave C reviewed 'Blue Haired Bombshell' by John Zakour as amusing, very
sill, worth full paperback price

Chris reviewed 'Murder by Death' on DVD as worth the $6.50 he paid for it,
very entertaining; reviewed 'Youth in Revolt' as a very amusing teen story
to begin and then it gets twisted and hilariously funny - except for the
trees being all wrong - worth full price

Ed reviewed 'Guidolon' by Frank Wu as fun and reviewed by Rudy Rucker as he
takes it a bit too seriously

I reviewed 'Sherlock Holmes' as a perfect sort of adventure/romance movie -
lots of fun worth full price; there were lots of follow-ons that agreed it
was slashy fun - and I've seen 'Avatar' 4 times now and still think it's
worth full price

Mo reviewed "Holmes on the Range' by Steve Hockensmith as she highly
recommends it

Stellan reviewed the latest 'Prairie Home Companion' as very funny and worth
full price

we did auctions: we auctioned off books for $0.50 & $2.00; a Babylon-5
thingie for $0.25; cookies for $1.25, $1.50, $1.00, $0.25, $2.00, $1.00,
$2.00 & $2.00 & cupcakes for $2.50

We adjourned at = 9:17

And the rumor of the week was: 'BASFA - home of hot cookie action'
