Trey Haddad, President Chris Garcia, Vice-President Dave Gallaher, Treasurer Galen Tripp, Sargeant at Arms Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary held at Coco's, 1206 Oakmead Parkway (Lawrence Expressway/101 fwy), Sunnyvale Began 8pm - with references to the Masochism Tango We established a party jar 19 people attended Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 1020 were accepted as 'Adrienne objects to Stellan objecting' no Treasurer report no Vice President report The President had nothing fannish to report Announcements: [evil] Kevin announced that there'll be a Steampunk Exhibition in 2 weeks at the Hilton Garden in Emeryville; that the same week, there will be a Penswag meeting; then the weekendof March 20 will have the Coronation Ball at 938 the Alameda Radar announced that Wondercon will be April 2-4 at Moscone Center South in SF, $40 for the whole weekend and also announced that there will be no Silicon 2010, but there will be fund raisers for Silicon in 2011 Howeird announced that this weekend will have Consonance at the Fremont Hilton, Fremont Adrienne announced that Bay Area Ghost Hunters will have 2 meet and greets - at March 10 in SJ at 5:30pm - and at March 21 in Berkeley at Blakes on Telegraph - check their website Tom announced that Potlatch 19 will be this weekend in Seattle at the Hotel Deca and that Potlatch 20 will be in SJ - check their website Glenn announced that Norwescon will be held the 1st weekend in April Stellan announced that the Tech Shop is opening a new location in SF Reviews: Glenn reviewed Patrica McKillip's book 'The Belle of Seelie Isle' as very fantasy lite but extremely well written and he really enjoyed it; he also reviewed Condor as 540 attended, it broke records and he sold a lot of Westercon memberships there Dave C reviewed 'Never the Bride' by Paul Magrs as setting up for a series, he found it distressing and worth library [even tho he could sell it to you] Radar reviewed Gallifrey as she had an amazing time there, the Masquerade was excellent and filled with 'Ooooo!' costumes and that 'lobby con' started Thursday night and it never really ended; Adrienne reviewed 'Inglorious Basterds' as she enjoyed it, despirte its being a Tarentino film; reviewed ''Precious' as engrossing, disturbing and depressing - worth DVD rental; & reviewed 'The Blind Side' as she really enjoyed it - she also reviewed the TV remake of 'Survivors' as she enjoys it and recommends it we did auctions: auctioned off a poster and magazine for $0.25, cupcakes for $1.75; toys for $0.50; cookies and a waterbottle for $1.50; snickerdoodles for $0.50 & a book for $3.00 We adjourned at = 9:07 And the rumor of the week was: 'At Gallifrey the smoker's area is called the Black Lung of Rassilon' -- ******************* She/whispered/'Oh/my/goodness/what/are/all/these/squirrels/doing/here?'
