Trey Haddad, President Chris Garcia, Vice-President Dave Gallaher, Treasurer Galen Tripp, Sargeant at Arms Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary held at Coco's, 1206 Oakmead Parkway (Lawrence Expressway/101 fwy), Sunnyvale Began at 7:55 and then at 8 pm We established a Marina jar 25 people attended Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 1025 were accepted as 'interrupted by giggling fits' & the minutes of meeting 1026 were accepted as 'Icelandic death cloud' the Treasurer reported that last week we took in $3.00 in the regular jar and $1.10 in the party jar the Vice President reported that there is a new 'Drink tank' on Efanzines.com - that the next issue of 'Journey Planet' is shaping up and will be about space & he's looking for content, that he saw a Japanese film that seemed to go on forever & that he wants Admiral Akbar cereal The President had nothing fannish to report Announcements: Ken announced that both this Friday and next Friday will have Legion of Rasselon meetings at the usual place at 1st & Trimble Mo announced that Tom Towhey [sp?] had a stroke and is feeling a bit down, so if you can visit or write him, please do - and she also announced that Fanime's art show will be sponsored by Silicon Adrienne announced that Bay Area Ghost Hunters now has more than 500 members and the next Meet & Greet will be at 1pm on May 15 at the St Claire in SJ and that Lockheed is hiring engineers Radar announced that Silicon will be having a geeky sale 9am-5pm on May 1st, at 689 Locust St in SJ Lynn announced that she is looking for work as a tech writer, announced that Warren's sister died and she has a sympathy card for those interested to sign Dave C announced that The Other Change of Hobbit is open for business now and also announced that BayCon is showing signs of life Andy announced that the prices for the Reno Worldcon go up on May 1st, as do the rates for Aussiecon; plus SMOFcon's rates go up then - and Westercon's rates go up June 1st [tall] Kevin announced that he has an old office chair he'd like to give a new home - as well as a 4-barrel toaster Reviews: Dave C reviewed Gail Carriger's book 'Souless' as a book of manners & worth full price & reviewed 'House' a 1977 Japanese film as a very strange splatter flick, sort of like 'Wes Craven's Scooby Doo' & then reviewed his parking space in the Castro on a busy Saturday night, 100' from the theatre as it proves he is blessed by macadam Glenn reviewed tasty concepts & work-related food poisoning as unpleasant and that better stuff was better Julie reviewed Jonathan Pryce as definitely worth full price & a Dr Who Confidential along with the 'The Curse of the Red Death' was exceptional & that "very Annie Mary' is still a favorite Jonathan Pryce film of here [evil] Kevin reviewed a syphilis channel version of 'Riverworld' as he saw it so that none of us have to Mo reviewed 2 books, #s 1 & 6 of the Aunt Dimity series by Nancy Atherton as really sweet, with some clever bits with cookie recipes, but not really worth full price Ken reviewed reviews ['volcanic cloud of death'] Lynn reviewed MySQL as good swag, good prizes and she had a decent time we did auctions: birthday auctioned off Julie Porter for $2.00 to me; then Coco coupons for $4.00 & $1.00 We adjourned at = 9:23 And the rumor of the week was: 'We meant the other Mount Doom' -- ******************* She/whispered/'Oh/my/goodness/what/are/all/these/squirrels/doing/here?'
