To our horror and shudders, the VP reported there was no new Drink Tank out
that
week. He is planning to make his next issue an extra big one about this year’s
Hugo nominations for best novel. Any contributions are welcome. He received
notice from an author whose name missed inclusion in the minutes.  Chris said
the author called him Rich in their correspondence, but he could live with that.
Dave C. made a motion to refer to the VP as Rich for the rest of the meeting
and
it was passed.
No President’s report
The sports committee announced they have an opportunity for discounted tickets
to see the Earthquakes and asked if anyone would be interested. They’ll aim for
tix at the July 17th game against the Tottenham Hotspurs.

Announcements:
Ed accepted the position as social track lead for Further Confusion
Lisa said that Harold is not in the hospital and the Harrigans will be
attending
Westercon 63 after all
Howeird says Los Altos will have a July 4th celebration at Shoup Park and his
band will be playing
Glenn said 1038 is the code for stopping suspicious vehicles
Dave G. says he’s planning an expedition to see Young Frankenstein in July. See
him if you’re interested in going.
Rich says Eclipse will be released tomorrow night and he is preparing.

Reviews:
Glenn says “Tribbles of Death” has an Captain Pike action figure
Glenn reviewed the restaurant Nomi Nomi on Castro Street in
Mountain View as very good.
Ed read Outnumbering the Dead by Frederick Pohl and enjoyed it.
He also read Bimbos of the Death Sun and loved it. I’m sure the
author would want me to mention her name.
He thought The A Team was a smoking movie.
He also said Surrogates was a study piece of sci fi. Stellan
followed on that overdone is underrated.
Kevin S. saw trailer for live action Star Blazers and was really impressed. It
uses the original theme.
Jeff said he saw Henry Rawlins, who went non-stop for  three hours.
Shawn saw Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla and it was an apostle’s creed of pseudo
science.
Andy said the Doctor Who season finale was well worth stealing.
Dave C. read Changes by Gail Carriger, but it was not as good as Soulless.
He said Toy Story 3 will change your lives forever. Stellan
liked it too. Eric said it was a worthy capper on the trilogy.
Rich said there is an English movie that’s awesome because it put hot English
actresses in schoolgirl uniforms.
Jonah Hex wasn’t the worst movie he has ever seen. He values
this crap at $6.50.
He also read Titan, by Stephen Baxter, who is now his new
favorite author.
Adrienne read Boneshaker, by Cherie Priest, which has been nominated for the
best novel this year. It was awesome. It has great characters who developed.
Great plot with lots of action, explosion, and zombies.  It is currently my
favorite to win. Rich followed on that it sucked, but he liked Palimpsest, by
Catherynne Valente, so his taste is questionable.
Gordon reviewed the new terminal B at SJC as excellent. The project came in on
time and under budget. Worth full price.
Sarah said the parade in San Francisco was packed, but orderly.
She also proclaimed that Vert, by Jeff Noon, is her second
favorite book of all time.

We did auctions.

Rumor of the Week:
“Hey, you kids, get off of my fandom!”

We adjourned at approximately 9:35 p.m. in favor of a wobbly table
