I like to use www.timeanddate.com to determine international/regional adjustments. For instance, the weather in Melbourne is ranging between 40-62°F for the next week. It also provides details on how to make an international phone call. It has just about everything except monetary differences.
To get an idea for currency exchange, http://www.xe.com/ is pretty good. It looks like the U.S. dollar is getting a little stronger. Time adjustment to Melbourne from California is to subtract 7 hours and add a day (or add 17 hours to California time).
