From the early articles on this I had learned that KDFC had originally planned 
to keep it's original frequency *and* also use KUSF's and KNDL's.  Entercom, 
who sold KDFC to USC, I guess decided that KDFC's old frequency would be a 
better asset to retain to relay their KUFX signal from the South Bay to SF.  
The slightly fishy aspect seems to be that as of last week nothing regarding 
KUSF had been actually filed with the FCC, so basically KDFC seems to be 
leasing KUSF's frequency - thus avoiding any period of comment from the public 
to the FCC.

If I was at KSCU I'd be scared right now.  They are another private (and 
similarly Jesuit) owned university station that could fulfill USC's South Bay 
needs.  From what I've heard state funded schools (UC, CSU & CCs) would have to 
go through boards, committees and other bureaucracies to sell their licenses - 
so, while it's possible that one of them could, it wouldn't be kept a secret 
like the KUSF sale was.
