for meeting1296 were corrected to report that there were recommendations to fly 
to Sasquanin Spokane, WA, from Oakland Airport. They were then accepted as 
"imply thatblank." Treasurer said that wehave money, but a payment to the Party 
Committee put its funds in the negative. VP had nothing fannish toreport. The 
president wasn'tthere to say he had nothing fannish to report. The Sports 
Committee isstill exploring possible outings for the BASFA membership.  
Announcements: JC says NerdVana Podcast will post part 2 of its"Free Comic Book 
Day & Happy Hour at Slave Labor Graphics"episode on Wednesday. It can be found

new movie, The Martian, based on the novel by AndyWeir, has been released.

11 at Café Stritch and have a "Lieto Me" theme. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a 7

released episode 399.1, which can be found at http://www.fanboyplanet.com/. 
Episode400 will be recorded live at 7 Stars Bar & Grill on June 13th at2 p.m.   
  He also believes the new SyFy show, Killjoys, will be worth seeing and also 
noticed that the networkhasn't been showing its trailer for Childhood'sEnd. I 
announced the entrydeadline for the Sasquan writers workshop is June 24. For

Kathryn D.announced that their landlord of 15 years gave them notice and they 
decided tomove to Atlanta.  Gerry N. has a new story,"Last Call," that will be 
included in the forthcoming anthology How Beer Saved the World II. Tom is on 
the staff forthe fanzine lounge at Sasquan and says there will be plenty of 
kewl displaysthere, including memorials to Peggy Rae Sapienza and Susan Wood. 
Mo announced she had somespot illustrations published in the textbook, Playing 
with Math, edited by Sue Vanhatten.     She is also happy to be back and busy 
downsizing her estate. Kevin R. said Westercon68 (http://westercon68.org/) is 
coming andhe'll be hosting a Worldcon bid party for Helsinki in 2017 
(http://www.helsinkiin2017.org/).  Carole went to CostumeCon33 where she won an 
award. She is also doing costume programming for Sasquan.  Reviews: Carole 
liked thedifferent kind of greenness on the East Coast.     Balticon was fun. 
George R.R. Martin will be guest of honor nextyear.     She also went to the 
All-Hands meeting in Spokane and believesthings are shaping up well. Fred 
attended SkeptiCalin Oakland and thought the speakers gave really good 
presentations. He had agreat time and highly recommends it. Ric saw Sense8, 
which is for mature audiences. Ithas very graphic sex scenes, but it is very 
good. He recommends it.     After seeing previous seasons of Defiance and Dark 
Matter,he recommends the new ones that are about to start airing. Beth and JC 
visited ChrisG., Vanessa and the penguins last weekend and said they looked 
wonderful. Chriswas very paternal. Tom went to Eastercon inthe UK and visited 
some museums while there, including Bletchley Park, where hesaw the Bombe.     
He also recommends the book StationX, by Michael Smith, which is about 
codebreaking. Brad saw Mad Max in 3D and was mesmerized. Saysit's definitely 
worth full price.     He also saw Tomorrowlandand believes it was made 30 years 
too late. There were lots of followons.Carole wanted Hugh Laurie's coat. Dave 
C. wanted to like it, but thought Lauriewas stereotyped as the villain with the 
British accent. Kevin R. loved itsvision of the future as a utopia. Overall, 
the comments were mixed, but it isdefinitely worth matinee price.     Brad also 
went to one of the Warriors's championship games andsaid it was the right one. 
He likes the Oracle Arena and thinks it's a shamethe team will be leaving it. 
Bill said CostumeCon wasn'this niche, but it had a lot of great costumes. He 
enjoyed seeing more of theEast Coast and visiting an old plantation house. 
Overlooks were spoiled by fogwhile they were there. He and Carole also went to 
Balticon, which he calledhalf a Worldcon. He believes Balticon is worth 
attending once. Chris D. gave The Complete Cosmicomics, by ItaloCalvino 
(translated by William Weaver, Tim Parks & Martin McLaughlin), 5stars for his

went to PEERS'sDoctor's Dance and did "Let's Do the TimeLord Again." It was a 
lot offun and she really recommends PEERS's functions. Carole said their motto 
is"Costumes admired, but not required." Dave G. recommends Coco'ssundaes with 
hot fudge.   We did auctions.  Rumor of the Week: "Ken shot first."  We 
adjourned 9:50 p.m.
