Welcome, Andrew!

It's been a while since I have been to a BayCon, but I will be able to make it this year. I'm looking forward to it. The science track looks great.

Did you know that Paul Preuss co-wrote a screenplay of "The Left Hand of Darkness" with Ursula Le Guin?

Dear BASFA Members:

I am new to the list, so please forgive me for posting something you may already know. I teach astronomy (and “Physics for Poets”) at Foothill College. I use science fiction stories in my teaching and have long been a science fiction fan. This past year, my first science fiction story was published in a small-press anthology.

Although I have spoken at BayCon before (as a science speaker), this will be the first year I will also speak as an author (and, like naively enthusiastic new authors, I am thrilled.) Just in case you don’t know about the science parts of the upcoming convention, I wanted to share the announcement that follows with you.

Thanks, Andrew Fraknoi
